Reviews Review by Leonard Radic for ‘The Age’ 5/5/72. This highly evocative, hightly personal play by Dorothy Hewett is both a work of private stock taking and a cry from the heart. But, like the best such works, it goes well beyond the autobigrphical, speaking not merely for its anguished author and her generation – Perth in the 40’s & 50’s – but for succeeding generations too. As such, it makes an apt and entertaining choice as the opening play in Melbourne University’s second, and greatly enlarged Australian play season…. Technically, the play bristles with difficulties, most of which are overcome in George Whaley’s resoureful and firmly controlled production. 36% audience
