Abstract
"Theatre" (July 1962) v.1, pp.32-3: Brian Corless - "The satiric and the sexual themes are not identical and it is important that the emphasis which is taken from the sex should not be given by the satire. In this way the production was incomplete, and a firmer hand was much needed in the direction of the players, particularly in the matter of gestures and the pointing of dialogue. The production was too obviously a collection of individual performances: it lacked the imprint of style which a producer should impose in the synthesis of play and actors which is his creation". Mixed praise and criticism for the individual cast members. "The set by Peter Wood was sensibly planned, light and airy", "Gibb's costumes...were almost all in pastel colours".
