| Title | The Rake’s Progress |
| Start Date | 25/09/1989 |
| End Date | 30/09/1989 |
| Abstract | “…’The Rake’s Progress’ makes its point through seduction rather than confrontation, awell as charting the decline and fall of a young man who squanders his inherited wealth, deserts his true love and ends up in Bedlam; the work is a commentary on the whole operatic tradition.” The performance was intended to provide “a good night out”, punctuated “with sharp social comment, a la Brecht” including a commitment to visual and “challenging staging”. |
